Our Journey

DICE Ministry CBO started in the 2000's. In 2004, Maurice Agunda realized that many young people were getting saved and were on fire for Jesus yet shortly afterward, most would go down as if they were not saved in the first place. The passion and excitement of praying, going to church, and sharing their faith with others would soon die. Then, in 2007, he caught the vision to begin a ministry that would be a framework the youth and young believers could follow upward — a framework that would properly reflect the costs and joys of discipleship.
Partnership with Baptist Chapel
In 2008, Maurice partnered with Baptist Chapel, Lucky Summer, and started a 9-month discipleship training program for the teenagers and young adults at the church. He used the New Life Training Curriculum from Campus Crusade for Christ (or Life Ministry Kenya). The training was a huge success. Maurice and his friends conducted another discipleship training program at the same church and at Highridge Baptist, Korogocho in 2009.
Discipleship in High Schools
In 2010, we started high school ministry at St. Mary's Keris High School in Lucky Summer and rented our current office space the following year. The weekly discipleship programs at the school focused on helping students establish a growing relationship with God and establish a Christ-centered foundation for their academics, relationships, and future lives.

Inaugural SURGE
In 2012, we held our first SURGE program - a 9-month discipleship training program that encourages young people to cultivate their relationship with God, build a solid foundation for their future, identify their unique gifts and areas of calling, and develop leadership skills. The program offered training in Discipleship and Evangelism, Peer Education and Life skills, and Basic computer packages. In addition, our students had to choose one course from Basic Music Skills, Graphic Design, and Video Editing and Shooting.

Short-term Missions
We commenced our partnerships with Reign Ministries in 2015 and have hosted different Royal Servants and Kairos mission trips since then. This partnership has created an opportunity for us to continue engaging in short-term missions through which our students get first-hand experience in sharing their faith and discipling others.
